Mother

The mother bares the crown of thorns

The crown that will be passed to her daughter one day at last

The battles they will fight

The playful banter they will share

Always going to the lord in prayer

Prayers for peace and love on earth

And hoping to end the curse

The curse that lurks over their homes

Creating a space that begins to grow with haste

A place of love but judgment too

A place where she never sees you for you

I love what you have done I thank you for it too

I just need you to know, that I am not you.
