Mother To Daughter

Look around the garden, my child, at the beautiful flower that blooms And you will find the growing love that spreads from me to you Yes, you'll encounter times of despair, but remember endurance and hope And in the end, you will see that you've been able to cope Look around the garden, my child, at the beautiful flower that blooms Observe just what the flower will do; it's not so different from you Just as weeds can hold it down, you'll have hardships too But as the flower continues to grow, you will also pull through As its goal is always to reach for the sky; you, too, must keep your head held high Look around the garden, my child, at the beautiful flower that blooms

This poem is dedicated to my mom, who taught me that I could overcome any obstacle through perseverance.
