Mother Dear

When you don’t know what to write about

Write about your mom.

She has a brave soul, yes

For she carried you

Not just nine months, but

through all your years.

Mom, I realize as I leave again

That I leaned on you so much.

You picked me up at every fall

and kissed my boo boos better.

When I got older, mother dear,

You showered me with praise.

Though I faltered and I failed,

With you it didn't matter.

And mother, oh, I love you so,

and so I'm missing you tonight.
