Mother Earth

A summer breeze

A winter’s freeze

She cycles annually with ease

A thankless offer

And yet we rob her

Of her finite gifts

We take, we take

She breaks and breaks

And yet we still want more

Life and death

She grants them both

Yet all we see is a chance for growth

She’ll waste away

And then one day

We won’t be able to prolong our stay

The resources we demand? Profuse.

Our treatment of the earth? Abuse.

It’s time for society to call a truce

And change or greedy need to produce.
