Mother Wendell

A mother

A coach

A teacher

A friend

Mrs. Wendell

She is the definition of women in STEM

Lighting the path for our minds

Showing us that the answer is able to found

And, guiding us in the right direction.

She showed me what it  means to be strong

To put on a brave face

But also learn the skills of leadership.

She taught me how to love

The compassion she has for others

Is unrivaled.

She has shaped me as water fills containers

She has filled me with knowledge up to the brim

And I know now that I can do all things

With determination.

She is Melissa Wendell.

And she has made me.
