Motherland

I was born on your ground And you're very dear to me I wish I would've stuck around But things weren't meant to be It breaks my heart to see The pain you're going through You're watching your children bleed And there's nothing you can do Why do they have to die? Why can't they be in peace? In their graves they lie In more than one piece I really don't understand What is going on But I wish that it would end Because it has been too long I feel weak and helpless Because there's nothing I can do All I do is witness My country, torn in two But don't cry, motherland One day it will all end And I will be back again Playing in your golden sand
