Motherless Child

A child of six, already alone. She is miserable and crying, and sadly at home. Her mother is a drug addict and never around. Her tears are like screams, no one can drown out the sound. She grows up quietly, learning her own way. Later in life, she knows she will find a better day. Taking care of your mother shouldn't happen until later But sometimes it happens, and you hope you are destined for something greater. Now in high school, plans to be a nurse. And unlike her childhood, she will have money in her purse. She knows she makes the rules in her life. One time she almost ended it with a sharp serrated knife. But she stopped herself when she realized she could make it better. No matter how long it took, she could and would get there. To the place she knew existed, a place with less sadness. Where money wasn't a problem and she wasn't put last. She went through life taking care of her friends. She helped them see through to more favorable ends. She acted like a mother to all those who needed her So hopefully they too, could make the world better.
