Motherly Guardian

Mother I love, giver of life

Stubborn yet kind

Protected me from strife

How I wish I could rewind

To the years before graduation

You and I, a mirror image

I spread my wings, a realization

To be your daughter, what a privilege

Yet to leave the nest

Has left me stressed

You soothe my fears

Of these coming years

My future is uncertain

Yet you see behind the curtain

To you the light is plain to see

Of this stress I shall be free

Between just us two

I cherish memories of you

You raised me, a challenge high

Now with college near

I will miss you mother dear

Yet I must bid you sad goodbye

From Nan to you

I love you mom

Of course I do
