Motherly Love

"Because I love you"

Words that follow should always be true.

The things I have seen, the things I will do,

Will always be for you.

Hearts beat, love flows, stereotypes everyone knows.

Hearts stop, love flows, everyone you love eventually goes.

Signs of a healthy relationship are those that are not perfect:

Doors slammed, Feelings hurt, Crying internally into an old t-shirt.

But day after, Smiles, Hugs and Kisses galore,

Hearts warming, Arguments gone, as if there wasn't a door.

Talks of emotions, Real thoughts, Views on the world,

Open communication, Walls breaking, Talks about a girl.

Young love, Heart throbs, Thoughts ensue,

Thoughts about what I would do, because I love you.

Years pass, Hair grows, Sweet thoughts turn Bitter.

Young love, Realized attraction, treated like litter.

The pitter-patter of rain, falling down cheeks,

Tears for the darkness and cynicism that sneaks

into the aged heartbeats.

Heartbeats recorded by machine,

Constant beeps, drips of morphine,

Endless pain, Endless suffering,

Life flashing, Thoughts tumbling.

Thoughts of what you did do -

     Breakfasts made, Lunches packed,

     Projects helped on,

     Goodbye "I love you"s, Encouragement,

     For you I relied upon

- because you loved me and I loved you.
