A Mother's Laughter

The joy in a mother's laughter,

the euphoria brought with it.

Never heard again thereafter.

Ringing from the walls to the rafter,

before the deep depression hit.

The joy in a mother's laughter.

Reminding us of things that matter,

until the pieces lost their fit.

Never heard again thereafter.

It could cure any disaster,

except the one that made it quit.

The joy in a mother's laughter.

Bringing with it lively chatter,

up 'till the day she would submit.

Never heard again thereafter.

Her smile was an open pasture,

happiness would always transmit.

The joy in a mother's laughter,

never heard again thereafter.
