A Mother’s Push

You raised me up, helped me grow

Teaching me every day

“One day” you said, “you’ll have to go”

“Go conquer the world that waits”,

So you pushed me hard

And pushed me far, because

You saw the end of the game,

And, you made me work

For what i wanted to see, nothing is free

In a life like this, you choose your destiny

And you made me get up and going

When I was depressed in misery

You encouraged me to be vulnerable

But never to be weak

You supported me when I was judged and bullied,

Because the failure and messups couldn’t stop me,

You taught me to never settle,

For those silver metals

Since with a little more work and effort

Victory was always better

You pushed me through my schooling,

Helping me along the way,

You said “become some great”

Because we all age anyways,

So you pushed me to want to be a doctor,

To help, to heal, to change,

Change the world into something better,

In just one small way

So mom,

you pushed me to my limits, pushed me to my edge,

Pushed to my breaking,

But it helped me get ahead,

So mom you are my captain. You’ve helped me find my way

My ship is on its wild course,

Venturing along the way
