Mount Everest
Flawless. A word seldom used.
After all, is anything REALLY infallible?
But I have come to a revelation:
I will not focus on devastation.
I am perfect just the way I am.
I know where I have been,
And I know where I am going.
And I know I am reaping what I am sewing.
Because hard work and hardly any sleep,
Yes, the exhaustion digs deep,
But I am building a mountain
Taller than Mount Everest.
Climbing and climbing and climbing,
I fall, but I get back up.
And that is why I am flawless.
Running the race till the very end,
I don’t give up,
I don’t give out,
And I don’t give in.
I know who I am.
Isn’t that what it’s all about?
It’s not about the social trends
Or trying to fit in.
It’s not about spreading rumors
Or telling lies.
We might as well label these
Things as “Ruining Lives.”
No, I do not participate in these affairs,
Because you cannot always
See a person’s inner layers.
And that is why I am flawless.
So you who know who you really are,
And you who are weary and needing rest,
Come join me on a mountain
Taller than Mount Everest.
