A Mountain of Fear

A mountain of fear
A valley of guilt
A river of shame
And a world of sin

Do not bow your head in defeat
There are things we must not accept
From this we shall not retreat
Because a promise must be kept

Our world hears but does not listen
It seeks but does not find
There is a light that shines and glistens
But to it some are blind

The word is here for all to learn
To discover the way to live
Through acts of love others will yearn
To find the grace He gives

A world built on love can exist
A world like that can be real
Selfish desires we must resist
In order to be healed

Among those who live in God’s name
You must know we’re called to love all
A task has been designed for us
To gather the ones that fall

A mountain of fear
A valley of guilt
A river of shame
And a world of sin
Will be crushed with His hand
And the pain that has been
…Forever gone from this land

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us through aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely; and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. -Hebrews 12:1
