Mountain March

Breath caught, unable to grasp a fleeting thought
Fingers lose sensation

Tiny needles prick at
                                 exposed nakedness

Ice crystals form jagged incoherent shapes
Desperate desire to
                               Run,
Across the ice rink of asphalt

Vibrant shades of palette’s rebirth
Adrenaline inducing adventures,
All distant memories of warm breaths
                                                             passing.

People slowly, shuffling down
                Alleyways
                                 of snowy mountains,

Hopeful glances for budding life
Only longing for

winter’s rest.
