Mountain Peaks
I was loved before I was even a thought or an idea.
My ancestors loved who I was.
I was a piece of them. A Hupa, Yurok, Karuk, Redwood Creek, New River Girl.
They saw me on the mountain peaks
I was born with broken parents.
When I was young I was poor thing.
I learned to talk and to be sweet and loving.
I was lucky I got parents even if they weren't bilogically mine
They were mine.
I was smart, kind, tough.
I was what they called a "Rez Girl"
The father I had died slowly.
I grew into insecurities and fear and abuse
Years of fear,
Years of hate for drug addiction and neglect.
Angry at the abused ones for not stopping it.
I was shattered
I changed.
I was mean, sad, depressed, and completely lost.
I found myself in some kind of love.
I left, I started over. I got my heartbrokren over and over
I reshaped my heart, my mind.
I loved life, I was stuggling.home.I was no permanent j
Then all of a sudden I was soaring.
That day changed me.
The only love I had left, because of his mind and some elses bullet.
I was done and then I was starting to be okay.
Then the mother I had departed from me too
I was left with parents who couldnt take care of themself
I was okay
I am now okay
This is a summary not who I am
I am a girl of strength and serendipity.
I am an overcomer of obstacles
I am a believer and a changer
I am simply and beautifully me.
