Mourning Til' Morning

Mom reassured me as she whispered a song

Maybe she was right all along

Months have passed by hoping you'll call

Many more have passed since last fall

Moving through life without a care

Making small clouds with our voices in the air

Merely hearing the sound of your voice

Melted my heart without any choice

Marveling at the sight of you

Might have helped me make it through

Midnight walks and aimlessly wandering

Made me warm inside but left me pondering

Meeting you caused joy in my life

Mistaking you for love was my strife

Middle of the night crying over you

Mind is spinning, confused, rue

Mildly hoping to wake up from this dream

Moon then reminds me of his scheme

Minutes are wasted again from this fright

Morning is coming and so will the light
