A Mouse's Last Day

Life.

It’s a weird word really.

Not the sound that it makes but the experiences of it are just…

I hate it.

It’s weird how just when it gives you something great,

something to make you feel good about yourself,

something to make you feel like you're going somewhere,

something to make you feel like you're gonna make it big time,

Life just takes it away.

I feel like a mouse

Being bribed with cheese

Only to hear the distant wailing of a banshee

Just before Death grabs it by the throat when it gives in to the bribe.

It’s not fun, being held by the neck with zero power over yourself.

Life isn’t fun.

I wonder if Life will continue to be the same asshole in the future that it is now.

I hope not.
