Mouth shut, Eyes open, Happily Drowning

Your eyes, that day, seemed so liquid, Rippling slightly, your thoughts skipping across the black pools. Your lashes, curving softly, tower above and around me. Nothing left to do but stay and relish in the hidden oasis of your stare. The depth surprises and delights me. There's a faint hope...of thirsts quinched. Your mouth gives away nothing, aesthetic stimulation, I look to your eyes to shed light on my confusion. Whisper to me if you must, if only to foreshadow the desires of your heart. I almost see the words fighting their way through darkness, to surface there as they do in the refuge of your gaze. The cloud in your mind is borne of stubbornness, And it's fear that catches you at your throat, And that cannot exist in the clear pools Your lashes finally come together again, Palm leaves washing a warm breeze over me. Just as I am completely submerged, I'm freed. I've pulled myself out of the still waters left cold and drenched. Involuntarily pivoted by subconscious yearnings, I chance a backward glance, searching. Only to find alarming time and space And that refreshing oasis.. Merely shrinking puddles on the horizon of my weary shoulder.
