Moving On

You were never by my side,

And now it's time to leave you behind.

You said you were going to change,

Then you trapped me in your somber cage.

You took all that I had,

I was never allowed to feel sad.

The darkness swallowed me whole.

The guilt and shame were on a role.

You couldn't understand the effect of your actions,

Didn't pay the dues for your convictions.

You said "Sorry" and moved on so quickly.

Left me on the cold floor, so sickly.

I still don't wish you any harm,

That has never been my charm.

I only wish that you would reflect,

On everything you did and said.

And maybe realize the impact you had,

Every time you got mad.
