Moving Forward

As I wake every morning I thank God I'm alive.

Because the decisions I've made shouldn't have let me survive.

As I think of the reckless strides that I've made,

I know I am right in giving God praise.

From the financial burdens, to the educational success,

I had not found myself eliveated of stress.

I'd found solace in sex, and drinking, and drugs.

But God pulled me through all of the above.

I am thankful for the next step that is to come,

an Ivy league degree is what I will have won.

One year from now I will be world renowed, and I will share my story

so that all can be proud. All will be inspired and all will perservere,

because this girl has been blessed with opportunities up to her ears.
