Mr. Incredible
Dear Mr. Incredible,
I am so terribly sorry for what they did to you, you were the only superhero to ever remind me of myself. A tall blond man with a lot of weight, but you were proud of who you were. However, as your story proceeded you succumbed to the standards of society and was broken by the insults of others. I know they seemed like jokes, but anyone who has ever been there knows that when you slept that night it hurt. They made you lose every perfect pound of your structure until you were nothing, but a standard for men to meet and another figure head for television's fight against obesity. With each inch of your waist gone a nail was hammered deep into my heart. You were my hero, my idol, but they dissected you like taking a tree and making a tooth pick! I know it hurt you, they made you a part of their campaign to tell all little children that they will never be happy until they shave all remnants of fat off of their poor, lied to, bodies. Well, Disney, universal, marvel? What are those people that can't lose weight supposed to do? Are you saying we can never be loved, because I can tell you for damn sure that I don't need you to tell me that. I used to tell my self every night the same way my father told me, and my brothers told me, being fat makes you worthless and unattractive. Well guess what!? I lied, growing up and learning real scientific facts made me realize being fat makes you better than those with nothing but skin and bones. Fat gives singers more depth, gives swimmers more buoyancy and gives those in the cold more insulation! Obesity is a blessing, not a curse, the only thing that makes obesity frowned upon is the television that fights it. I am perfect just the way I am and like the first ray of light on a cold morning I realized the truth. Mr. Incredible, I'm sorry for what they did to you and I wish that someday you accept yourself for who you are. You have broken free from all bonds that held you, we'll break free of the chains that the media placed on you. You no longer have to conform to their standards of perfect image, be you Mr. Incredible and be perfect.
