Mr. Poseidon

Old Poseidon, so mighty and feared was tired of his mythological quests,

decided to take a modern twist and become a high school teacher instead.

Marine Biology being his only knowledge, was his only option to teach the high schoolers soon going off to college.

The first day of school came along,

he slicked back his gray, grizzled hair and shined his teeth so bright you could see your reflection reflect.

He wore his seahorse tie and socks, then set of to his new school,

on the wash his nerves caused a mini tsunami in someone’s pool.

He sat his bag down with a thundering roar, the class turned to face their new master, not a peep of noise drawn from their breaths.

Though a quiet class at first, soon became a room filled with noise.

The students loved their new, who turned donut to quiet hip and cool.

Learnt about whales from their passionate teacher and made Tik Toks at the end.

The school day was soon over, but the year quite far from the end.

The students left their class, bustling with excited chatter,

they couldn't wait for the next day with their ocean loving master.

Poseidon smiled enjoying his day, something he couldn’t quite comprehend, he never realized how much he had missed out and swore to be a teacher till the end.
