Mr. Sandman
He saved me in a dream. Saved me from my nightmares. He protected me from the demons of my mind. We walked away from my pain because I couldn’t do it on my own. He held my hand to keep me from falling. He brought me to his sanctuary. A safe place. In my slumber he guards my heart. Takes control of my soul. But when I wake up, when I return to reality, I’m in the cage belonging to the same monsters from my nightmares. My guardian angel has forgotten about the real me. Every day that goes by without acknowledgment from him, another piece of my fragile mind gets taken. I’m slowly losing the memory that is my protector. The keeper of the good dreams. Can you miss a memory more than the person it involves? Does he miss me like I miss the power of his safety? If he did he would no longer be the demon in my nightmares.
