Mrs. Robinson
I have no interest in getting married,
I don’t believe in the human spirit.
I know it’s possible to fabricate any connection.
I won’t follow the pointed finger towards the wanted direction.
Love is undoing yourself at the seams.
Eternal Bond is just legal fees.
The children grow unhappier it seems.
Welcome to the American dream.
No wonder they call it a nuclear family
If it didn’t work out for your parents,
How could it work out for you?
You are the product of passion and indifference,
You are the spawn of hatred and acceptance
You are the unknown integer in an equation that doesn’t make sense.
You are the manifestation of two people living on the fence.
The biological makeup of their flaws and their decisions,
In your genetic code your future is already written.
Take me to the center, where the stars cross'd but still aligned,
Where their beauty was displayed, any weakness was confined,
Before all the lawyer's papers waiting to be signed,
Where every twilight toast declared "to us,"
Was there Love once?
No wonder they call it the nuclear family,
No wonder they call it the nuclear family,
No wonder they call it the nuclear family,
I’m gonna blow up
(Just take care of me, I need empathy)
I’m gonna blow up
(I won’t live their life, won’t live their mistakes)
I’m gonna blow up
(I won’t breed hate, I will break the chain)
I’m gonna blow up
(I will break the chain)
I will break the chain.
