I want to be in charge

Sign this, approve that, look over this

I want my vision to be seen through everyone's eyes,

Research me with your iPhones and IPods

I want to walk through the lobby of my building with a thousand floors

Walk to the end of the hall to the office with double doors

I want my assistant to remind me that I have a meeting in the conference room at four

I want people to tweet my picture with the hashtag "idol"

I don't want to be the woman behind the influential man

I want to be the equally formidable woman beside him

I am a girl with knowledge, I want to be a woman with power

In the midst of working long hours and leading my team

I want to be a voice to the little girl who has dreams

Ms. CEO, I know you have a lot to do,

And even though we have to work late and wake up early,

Don't forget about our parents' anniversary and Niles' baseball game

Don't forget we want to travel and volunteer

Dont forget to love and live without fear
