Ms. S

When you teach us

And you say

“Please pay attention”

And you look

A little pained

When you turn to us

And you say

“Test tomorrow”

And you look

A little sorry

When you turn to the board

And you say

“Did any of you study”

And you look

A little disappointed

We know you are trying

We are young

Lazy, goofy, naïve, lazy

Maybe we will be good enough

And someday have the passion

You have

And you will look

A little proud
