Murder
"Murder"
she wrote
Because it killed her every time you defiled her intelligence
Like a chalk outline
You stood firm in your ignorance
Unmoving in your ways
Woe is her and she is me
And you is certainly and undoubtedly you
You put the deaf in definition
And the death in creativity
Because it was like you couldn't hear me
Every time I tried to just... be
Simply
Me
To be or not to be
And You'd rather me not
Because as the class drew circles
I chose to draw a box
Just so I could stand outside of it
Woe is her and she is me
And you is certainly and undoubtedly you
"Murder"
she wrote
Because it killed her every time you defiled her intelligence
Like a chalk outline
You stood firm in your ignorance
Unmoving in your ways
death to the student to whom you clipped her wings
And a chalk outline you remain still
Unfilled
For a teacher is nothing without a student
They asked what she'd learned from what the speaker had spoke
"Murder," it the only word that she wrote
Woe is her and she is me
And you are only what you produce in me
