Muse

I yearn for thee to whisper

My pen wishes to dance

But You reject its invitation

Without a second glance

Though on occasion you accept

And my pen twirls with delight

You leave swift and quick

So urgent to depart

You are the secret to my success

But you are also my downfall, my doom

The words you demand me to trace

Might lead to great disgrace

My fair dear, you ask too much

The orders you give are too harsh

And yet they hold their splendor

And with pleasure I do your bidding

The time together is scarce

When we are together the sweet sounds of parchment fills the room

My pen never suffers loneliness

My emotions transcribe to music

And my thoughts run freely.
