mus(i)c

my heart beats in time

with staccato quarter notes;

my eyes flick back and forth

like the bow of a violin.

my breaths are long and slow

like slurred whole notes;

my smile grows

like a crescendo.

i'm like raw music:

live, unedited,

full of vulnerability

and nervous strength.
