Music

It speaks the words that can't be spoken,
Mends the hearts we thought were broken,
Gives life to the places we thought were dead,
It keeps us from crying alone in our bed,
Each note, every line, has something to say,
And every word speaks to each person in its own special way,
Every soul, every life, is simply part of a song,
A beautiful mess of a symphony all trying to get along,
Music is my lifeline, my heart beat, my source,
For when my plans have gone astray it keeps me on my course,
It keeps me going, it makes me strong, it made me feel wanted when they said I didn't belong,
Music accepted me, protected me and it made me who I am,
It told me that I'm special and loved and it told me that I can,
It holds a special place that's very near and dear,
And without it I doubt that today I'd still be here.
