Music

It flowed through her

It charted a course through her veins

And kept her alive

It kept her heart beating

Allowed her to continue breathing

It flowed from her fingertips

It emanated from her bow

When it danced across the strings

The notes waltzed around her

Filling the void that inhibited her soul

Every emotion had a sound

Every sound had a meaning

Something came over her

The beauty of her music

Entranced those who listened

Her pain and dark thoughts

Captivated the hearts and souls

Of every member in the audience

She composed her thoughts

In a way none understood

No one could explain where

Her music came from

Hauntingly sweet and morbidly beautiful

She was so young

Yet she knew immense pain

The sense of wonder and bewilderment

She left inside people

Was utterly addicting

It kept people coming back

Over and over in hopes of

Just getting the rush of that

Feeling one more time

She gave but never took

Her music was all she needed

It was her perfect escape

And her harshest reality

But it was all she needed

Refuge, release, redemption.

this is the best one i've read so far, i would love to see more like this out there. it's so sadly sweet and happily alone.
