Music
She gets up from her desk holding back the tears, she pushes her headphones into her ears. Two minutes before the bell goes off and she’s scrolling through her playlist to find a song that will drown out the outside world and make her feel invisible… a song that will pound loudly into her ears to the point where she can feel the music in her fingertips. So loud that if you scream at her she won’t hear. She pushes a song and waits for the bell to go off, 3...2...1 *beeeep*. As the halls swarm with kids 9th through 12th, she takes a big breath and listens to the music pound in her ears. She feels her heart start to race and her breath get short, she clutched her chest and hops for the best that she can get through this one and walks on. She arrives to her next class and sits down... 3rd row, 5th chair. She just sits in fear. Why now? I’m not even worried about anything. Why is this happening? She thinking to herself. It’ll be okay... it will. She promises herself
