Music Cures
You fall asleep,
I sit on the edge of my seat.
You wish to be home,
I wish to hear more.
It is just another day to you,
It is a whole new experience to me.
The concert continues,
I listen to each detail.
Piano, pianissimo,
Forte, fortissimo.
The rise and fall,
The crescendo and diminuendo.
It makes me who I am,
It puts the spark in my eye.
Once I hear the clarinets,
The trumpets interrupt as always.
I hear the flutes,
Their impeccable trills.
I feel the cymbals,
I tremble with the timpani.
The oboe makes me dance,
The saxophone has more control of my emotions than I.
There seems to be no escape,
The music has me trapped.
You fall asleep,
I sit on the edge of my seat.
You wish to be home,
I wish to hear more.
It’s just another day to you,
It is life for me.
Music fills life,
Music cures me.
