Music Knows No Language Barriers

Other than sleep, clothing, shelter, and food,

There's one thing I surely can't live without.

It saves me from the gloomiest of moods,

And quiets me down when I want to shout.

It may derive from my very own lungs

Or the bulky headphones upon my head.

The lyrics may be in many strange tongues,

But I care more for the sweet tune instead.

I sway and dance to the upbeat rhythm,

Which reverberates clearly in my soul.

Here in my world void of criticism,

The melody plays, making me feel whole.

Even in the midst of my deepest strife,

I know music is there to save my life.
