Music To Me

My dream is to help kids find the beauty in life. Not just in nature, but in languages across the nation; Languages spoken by the wife Of her experiences and sensations. Languages that jump off of the page, That dance and float through the air. Languages that makes one think of sage Or, perhaps, a nice, fresh, little pear. "What languages can do that?" one may ask. Well, music, of course. It floats in one ear And out the other and can make one feel like they are wearing a mask; Or like they are snuggled up to one so dear. Music can break the chains on hearts and minds, Or the unbreakable locks on wings. It can set one free from all of their fines And can take out the dints and dings. I will show students through the years How to express life through the first note To the final rest. To fill all the audience's ears With the restless life's antidote. The antidote that kills all evil, just for a minute, And fills people's hearts with love and compassion. Perhaps, one day, in the audience a Senate, But whoever may come, will come in their own fashion. For music brings all people together, No matter what childhood or race, It soothes the soul, in all types of life's weather. For, in music, a face isn't just a face. So, I will keep on doing what I love And will teach people what the power of music is. And when push comes to shove, The music will blossom from the world's beautiful voices.
