A Music Student's Song

                       Crazy schedule-no time to breathe

                        Freaking out over homework

and staying up all night in vainhopeoffinishing

Grades might be good; I can only hope they are

dinner I eat alone to save time

every second is worth so much

                        Getting sleep… Sleep? What’s that?

                        Crazy. I feel so… insane

                  Creating music is my delight.

Forming notes on a staff into a story; into

artistic masterpieces that can only be heard.

                        Going to practice piano now

don’t stay up for me-I’ll be back late

every second will be filled with bliss

                        Gracefully shaping notes into phrases

Cadences end the phrases with Certainty

Feeling overwhelmed is part of my life, but

Creating my music, I forget everything else.
