The Music Within Me
Many people will say its food and water that they can’t live without and yes, I believe that’s true
But for me? Its music I can’t live without.
Music is something within myself, something I just can’t describe it.
It’s my own poetry in motion, if that’s what you want to call it.
Music is life, it tells stories within itself.
From James Brown to Beyoncé, I need it all.
I can live on an island without food or water, and yes I’d probably die, but with music?
When I’m about to die, I’ll feel like I know how to fly.
Music to me is like reading books to others.
It takes me to a whole ‘nother world.
It helps me when I need to get work done, when I need to cry, and even when I’m really excited.
Music is my one true love, no one can ever replace it.
Even when I’m dead and gone, while I’m waiting for judgement day, I’ll be listening to my gospel.
When I don’t have music for more than a couple of hours, it seems I can’t function.
I try my best but next thing I know I’m belting out the tunes to old school.
No one can judge me or fix this “problem”.
This here music, lives within me. It’s a fatal attraction.
Only people in bad romances can truly understand.
It addicting, it’s my drug.
I never feel alone, even when I am.
My music is always by the tips of my hands.
It bring me joy, it brings me pain.
At the end of the day, the music within me is the one thing I can’t live without.
