Mute

They say that they want to listen

Still they don't hear me when I speak.

Although my voice has risen

My roar is closer to a squeek.

Even when I shout the distance

My words are somehow weak.

But when I put my lips on mute

My words are what they seek.

They tell me I need to speak up

They say that i'm too quiet.

All I hear is the same lies

But i'm still too broke to buy it.

I try to share my thoughts

But, when I tell them, I'm ignored.

I'm not scared, i'm distraught

I'm not staying silent anymore.
