My Aching Soul

My soul aches at the thought of you

The foolish grip that I so loved I had to have you, my alleviation

Every dawn that befell, my passion ascended

In the past, the rush of hope carried me along the waves

Today, the waves hold me to the shore

I look as the ships sail by with tranquility and ease

I feel the chills of the winds harvesting my wonder

I turn around and all I see is an older me

He smiles and looks at me with such joy in his eyes

He lays his hands on my shoulder and disappears
