My Age

My age doubled the day you gave me the ghosts that I still carry

The day you told me to profess my love by getting on my knees

The day you refused to hear the word NO

My age doubled. My age doubled.

My age tripled the day I learned that I can control my own body

The day I learned that I deserve more

The day I learned that I can't blame myself for what happened

My age tripled. My age tripled. My age tripled.

When I learn that I am a SURVIVOR not a VICTIM

When I learn what love actually means

When I learn to trust someone whole heartedly again

When I become infinitely stronger than I already am

Hopefully my age will quadruple
