My Apologizes, My Dear
My red hot tongue flutters to my lips,
I can't catch the words that tumble forth.
Despite my hands attempts the poet's laments slip through my fingertips.
"I can't love you anymore," my voice cruel and hoarse.
Your delicate face crumbles into tears
but my eyes never reach yours
I lower my head. I silently hope my clunky tongue's thoughts don't sound like taunts
or jeers.
My wiry brain is too complicated, my dear.
My unruly body and jerky mind
are too much to love, I deserve retaliation
But I know you too well, too close like icarus kissing the divine
chariot of Apollo. I can only bring frustration.
I'm sorry my lovely redwood tree
but you were not meant for me.
