My Avid Supporter

Coffee slowly dripped into my soul,

A scent I once detested became my greatest comfort.

Your smile wrecked havoc upon my mind.

Clutching that cup as if it were your only lifeline,

I watched as tears welled up in your eyes.

Slowly killing my heart and leaving my mind turning.

Your eyes pierced my defensive walls,

Fear flushed my system as you heightened my vulnerability.

Liquid wakefulness faded into emotional instability.

You had my back despite the restrictions,

Pulling me into an eternal hug of trust and support.

You took my vulnerability and made it strength.

For that I cannot thank you enough,

Your parental love guarded my broken heart.

That coffee smell will forever remind me of your love, thank you.
