My Awesome

Waves, crashing against the sand

Wind, whirling around and blowing through my hair

The sweet smell of banana nut muffins fresh out the oven at sunrise

The cackling laugh you hear from the living room of your grandma laughing at the tv

And yeah, that’s awesome.

Sun, kissing you through the blinds and being reassured you’re alive by its warmth

Water, swimming around and making you feel at peace with yourself

The sight of your mom and dad singing and dancing together showing you true love still exists

Looking through old photos and being able to close your eyes and remember the day like it was happening right then

Yeah, that’s really awesome.

My awesome is remembering the happy times and being able to laugh and smile at all the good memories that came from it

My awesome is the sad times that broke my heart in two but it was a learning experience and changed me for the better and made me who I am today

My awesome is that road trip, that coffee date, the snow, the hikes, the long car rides.

My awesome is spontaneous, daring, a little on the wild side

My awesome is the new spot, the old spot, our typical spot

My awesome is with you, with my family, with my friends, with my ice

But better than that, my awesome is me

My goals, my accomplishments, my achievements, my future

The bad days, the good days, the unlucky hectic days

At the end of the day, I AM AWESOME.
