"My Bad"

You were in such a hurry

you didn't notice me walking

I keep my head down when I see you

so I didn't notice you almost crashing into me

you said "my bad"

and those two words are more

than we've spoken in months

and though my brain told me no

my heart fluttered still

and though my brain tells me no

I still hold my breath when you speak

and though my brain told me no

my heart skipped a beat

and though you told me no

you're in my mind on repeat

everyone seems to know...

but my heart just won't get the memo
