MY BETTER HALF
MY BETTER HALF
Why ask me to marry you
When you are going to breakup with me someday
Or have you forgotten, those words you spat into my ears
Three years ago,
You said that marriage does not guarantee eternity.
At that point I found myself in a trance,
I realized we aren’t in the same boat this time,
You had it all wrong,
Now this is my definition of marriage
Marriage is that battle that considers the both of us winners,
Cause non of us are ever giving up.
It is for better for worst
Just like the vows we are going to make at the alter.
This is going to be my courage towards this battle.
Yes I know, things aren’t going to work smoothly always.
Yes I know, there are still going to be ‘one of those days’.
But I know that we are going to succeed
Only if we let these wings carry us.
Why ask me to marry you,
When you are meditating on divorcing me someday.
Even the trumpet in heaven are sounding against it,
Do you think it’s just this flesh
You are going to make the heart of the Lord bleed once more,
You aren’t just going to break up with me but with your Creator.
Think about it.
Why ask me to marry you,
When you are planning to make my life miserable someday.
I am perturbed at this moment
With loads of questions just for you:
Do you think it’s easy?
Do you think am going to forget you?
Do you think I will be able to move on?
Do you think we can be friends again?
I don’t know if you have the answers to it
But I’ve got something to tell you;
If I should accept to marry you
Then I have accepted to also die with you,
And let me sleep to that world of immortality
Only in your arms,
For I have accepted it,
For life and death
Cause you are my better half ♥♥♥
