To my biggest fan
Face heating,
Heart fluctuating,
Vision spinning,
My poor chest aching.
'Doctor,' I asked,
'What is it that I've caught?'
But the doctor he tells me
I've got nothing wrong.
Must be a cold, I think,
maybe even a fever.
But now I know
it was really neither.
These symptoms, I noticed,
fabricated only
in the presence of someone,
and that someone solely.
It was then that I realized,
indeed I'd been imbued
with a fever they call "love,"
of which nothing I knew,
aside from of course
the source being you..
How could I be blamed, really?
How could I not fall?
I'd be a damned liar
to say I don't feel at all.
One single glance,
Your fixated gaze
Intoxicating so,
Setting my soul ablaze.
The tune of your voice,
so soothing, so sweet.
Oh, your rhythmic laugh
Sets me on a new beat!
Like you there's no other:
Such an incredible mind,
sarcastic and reckless,
but always so kind.
And then those brown orbs,
like windows to my soul.
You see me for me,
which is why my heart you stole.
You taught me happiness,
You taught me to love,
You brought me to life,
I could never thank you enough.
The only piece missing,
the one thing I need
is for you to feel the same,
the same feelings for me.
But alas I think not-
So clearly I see,
perhaps after all
it was not meant to be.
We've been oh so distant
Since you went your way,
And I went mine, and
Now the blues fill each day.
But each time we pass by,
a brief ocular exchange,
and my flame is rekindled
for it's always remained.
But it's only in dreams
that we now ever speak.
and once I awake,
the world seems so bleak..
But again then I see you:
Gel, piercings, and acne,
I catch that warm smile
and you do seem quite happy.
Oh at last
I do understand,
Even if I'm sad,
I'll be glad if you're glad.
So I now know it's best that
you'll never really know
the way that I feel,
for I'll let you go.
Thanks for everything,
For always being true,
For making me smile,
And changing my point of view.
When I felt that I couldn't,
You showed me that I can.
You're my motivation,
You were my biggest fan.
You're my favorite melody,
My favorite tune..
But it seems the song's turned
into a 'Valse L'adieu.'
This burden I'll forever carry,
But you'll never have a clue.
I wanna let you be happy
Because I love you.
