My Black History

My black history has been wrapped around
trials tribulations and oppression yet when you unravel it it’s like a beautiful golden rose. My black history has been refined 99 times and it’s brighter than the last time I clean it. See my black history stands for something. It stand for those who recognition is past due . Like grandma and grandpa who use to work four jobs round clock so you can live a better life than what you was given. It stand for those who fought yesterday so I can see today and how I’m going to  fight today so others can see tomorrow. See my black history goes back to my ancestors singing hymns and songs during oppression form hold one just a little while longer and everything will be alright to, we shall overcome to, if it had not been for the lord in my side. My black history is something that courses through my veins because sometimes at night I can feel my ancestors pain. See my black history is my skin every bump crack and crease got a story to go with it and every battle wound got a war I have won. See my black history isn’t something you can take away from me because it taught me that the world not going to like you for the color of your skin it’s gone pull you down when you trying to win. My black history taught me that this world don’t give handouts you have to  fight for what you want or you going to get stomp by this thing called life. So you get up and swing back. My black history taught me to stand firm cuz sometimes it’s better to sit there, listen, and learn. My black history is not something that ends on February 28 it’s something i will live out everyday of my life till i die and then my legacy will still live on. See my black history is a story. It's a story worth reading . It gives you hope, courage, and fight when you don’t have anything left in your body to fight on . My black history is not a sob story, no it is not. I don't want you to have pity on me, can’t you see my black history is me.
