My Black Idiom
If they would've told you the first time it be to nice of them,
trying to figure out how to hide my private life from them,
but instead im runnin from the ignorance left behind from them,
the less were told the better they're off,
stuck in a system that cowardly hides the truth,
how do I seek assylum when I can only find comfort in the thoughts of the unknown,
but thats the norm thats how life goes keep pushin while I'm young black and feared and kept in a system that profits off my lack of intelligance,
but how would I know when my thoughts are provoked and controlled by them,
locked in to this system that I can never comprehend or so they thought,
If I show them my mind I'm given a token,
but actions can't be standardized so those aren't welcomed,
Whether I lean to the left or right for them I will never be adequate,
but thats ok my inadequacy is needed because what they don't know that I know is that I'm not to be defeated,
not stopped, haulted, or killed by their oppresion,
I'm gifted to be black in a world where I'm given up on from the start only to find what truly lies within my heart.
