My Bookshelf

As I sit and think

Of my future to come

I fear of a moment

When I feel undone

The day I look

And see in the mirror

That who I am

Is just a stranger

So I must make a promise

One just for myself

To never stray away

From my own bookshelf

The shelf of my life

And all I've become

That's full of my stories

And where I am from

I must read my books

And remain intact

For no other person

Should break this pact

For in order to go on

I must really know me

Because if I lose myself

I won't know what to be
