My Boss

She walked as if she owned it

and maybe it's because she always has.

Flipping her hair this way, not that one

and with eyes like the sky staring down at you

big

blue

big

blue.

Offering you a smile of almost perfect teeth with barely chapped lips

A whole new world of dreams and adventures and happiness and everything you could ever ask for

all contained in her brain for you to find one night after two too many drinks.

Her fingertips rough, a guitar in her pocket

she'll sing you to sleep before any number of sheep.

A lullaby of all her favorite things,

and one day

one of them could be you.

Together, you'll laugh about things that aren't funny

and travel the galaxies of your minds.

Secrets are shared and memories made

and soon

you'll realize how much more she is than the blue eyed, smiling boss.

She is loved, by

you.

You'll notice everything:

the lazy curve of the almost smooth lips when she says she loves you

the way she hums while finishing spring cleaning

and the feeling of her hips in your hands.

She is much bigger, much better

than the blue eyed, smiling boss.

She's the reason you started watching superhero movies again.

she is yours.
